Dear Members of the Executive Board:

Thank you very much for your recent contribution of $6,000 to Easter Seals Bay Area.  Your donation allows Easter Seals to continue our mission of helping people of all ages with disabilities to maximize their independence.

For over 72 years, Easter Seals Bay Area has been world leader in serving people with disabilities and helping them to live life to the fullest. Each year, we impact 13,000 lives through the quality direct care services we provide in our clients' homes and in 7 facilities across 7 Bay Area counties.

when Jared, pictured below, was 10 months old his grandmother discovered that he was at risk for developmental delays and they began attending Easter Seals Early Start - Childhood Intervention Program together. Since then, he has been making new friends, learning songs, growing stronger and improving his verbal skills as Easter Seals' caring Early Start Specialists have encouraged his growth. Now 2-years old, Jared is developing wonderfully.

That's what your donation does, helps Easter Seals create solutions that change the lives of the people we serve. Thank you again for caring and for supporting Easter

Seals Bay Area.

Sincerely,

(signed)

Once again, many thanks to the California State Lodge of the Fraternal Order of Police for helping us to help others!

Easter Seals is the national charity of choice for the Fraternal Order of Police/Auxiliary/ and Associates. The California Fraternal Order of Police (FOP) has participated in this very worthwhile charity for the past fifteen years in various different ways. Initially, the California FOP established interest in this organization when it supplied off duty Police Officers and Police Explorers to provide security for the National Telethon held annually in Hollywood. Through the years, this effort has evolved in a greater participation from FOP members by donating both moneys and services for volleyball games, softball games and 24-hour relays throughout the State.

Currently, the California FOP remains actively involved in the support of Easter Seals by not only donating officer services but also by generating cash funds. More than 82 cents of every Easter Seal dollar goes to direct services and more that 90% of contributed income is retained in the area where it is raised. During the years of 1996 and 1997, the California State FOP generated $20,500 in cash and services, the largest amount from the western states.

Ron Ryerson is the current Easter Seals chairperson for the State and currently is a member of the National FOP Easter Seals Committee. For further information, you can contact Ron through the California State FOP Secretary’s office.
