Kern County, CA Lodge #3
Supports Easter Seals

On June 2, 2000, Newly formed Kern County Lodge #3, held their meeting in Bakersfield. Lodge #3 is made up primarily of Federal Immigration & Naturalization Service Agents (INS) of the Bakersfield Area.

Approximately 25 members attended their recent lunch meeting held at the Panda Palace in Bakersfield. In addition, the Fresno area Easter Seals representative, Ruth Hutchinson attended the meeting. Hutchinson brought along her local Easter Seals child, Kylee Quick and mother Rebecca McKay.

Lodge #3 has already started up a fundraiser to purchase an electric wheelchair for Kylee. their lodge has purchased plastic donation boxes with flyers inserted to describe the charity to include the F.O.P. logo. Members have placed these containers in various markets and venues in the Bakersfield area.

Los Angeles County, Lodge #1, donated $200 to Lodge #3 to give them a jump-start on their Kylee Quick wheelchair project. Representing Lodge #1 at the meeting were Roger Mayberry, president and Bill Westermann, Lodge #1 Secretary. Mayberry is also the State Lodge Trustee.

We know we will see a lot of great things coming from this new lodge.
