What
is NFOP PAC?
NFOP
PAC is the National Fraternal Order of Police's political action committee
(PAC). It is an integral part of the FOP's efforts to support and promote
the federal legislative and political interests of all FOP members.
The PAC provides access and exists to give FOP members a voice to many
who otherwise would not be heard.
The mission of the
NFOP PAC is to educate Members of Congress about issues important to
law enforcement officers, such as providing for a safer and more professional
work environment by electing candidates to office that support those
issues.
The purposes of
the NFOP PAC are to promote our National Legislative top priorities.
As a federally registered
PAC, NFOP PAC must rely solely on personal, voluntary contributions
from FOP members, spouses and family members. Federal election law prohibits
the use of union dues money to support federal candidates.

How
is my contribution used?
Your
contribution allows the NFOP PAC to educate members of Congress about
issues important to you and influence national policy-making through
political action.
The FOP is the nation's
oldest, largest, and most influential organization of law enforcement
professionals in the United States. We play a prominent role in the
formation of national law enforcement policy. Last year, the Grand Lodge
supported candidates who best demonstrated their commitment to those
issues that are of greatest concern for the rank-and-file law enforcement
officer.
Our goal is to raise
funds for these purposes, and from such funds to make contributions
to assist candidates, without regard to party affiliations, who demonstrate
their commitment to issues most important to members of the FOP.

their families.
National
FOP Labor
Services Section
The
Labor Services Section provides a comprehensive set of resources and
services designed to ensure that law enforcement officers get essential
representation. Whether your lodge requires contract information or
experienced experts, training seminars or personalized labor research,
the Labor Services Section stands ready to connect you with the people
and resources you need.
FOP members, across
our nation, have worked together through thousands of labor situations
– by putting lodges in contact with others who have been in similar
situations, the Labor Services Section facilitates access to the collective
knowledge of more than 300,000 officers.
Resources:
Ø
Staff.
Seasoned veterans in the field of law enforcement labor relations travel
extensively throughout the country to assist member lodges. Staff is
available to assist and guide negotiations, political campaigns to gain
rights, organizing campaigns, member retention issues and other labor
related activates. Also, we bring FOP members who possess vital specific
expertise to your lodge, when appropriate.
Ø Seminars. Training seminars are conducted
routinely around the nation, as well as in requested locations. Courses
are instructed by FOP members with significant
|
experience
in labor relations and are customized to meet the specific audience’s
needs and interests.
Ø Information System. Provides users with
point-and-click access to individualized agency information. The system
is designed to contain law enforcement contracts and data regarding
wages, hours, terms and other conditions of employment from all 30,000
law enforcement agencies. In addition, demographic data on each community
is readily available to help lodges determine which are comparable to
their community. Charts comparing wages and compensation for comparable
departments are instantly generated in a form that is clear, and concise.
The system is also a one-stop shop for comparisons of contract language,
FLSA compliance, demographic research, professional resources, and legal
references.
Ø Research. The office is a central hub
for research on issues related to law enforcement. A reference library
provides information on a wide variety subjects, and full-time employees
respond to research requests submitted by members. Research topics include,
but are not limited to: information on other organizations that represent
law enforcement officers, legal issues, economic research, employment
and compensation, employee and employer rights, working with the government,
physical and emotional hazards associated with the job, and law enforcement
demographics. Proactive research initiatives are also undertaken as
member needs require.

Labor Services Section stands ready to assist your lodge.
