KNOW
YOUR RIGHTS At the 2004 Biennial Conference there was a presentation on the changes to workers' comp. laws by two leading attorneys in the field. We have had inquiries about the changes and how to get more information. On April 19th 2004 the California legislature passed Senate Bill 899. This new legislation has wide sweeping effects on new and existing Workers' Compensation claims and will undoubtedly effect disability retirement claims. The new legislation has been challenged and lead cases are winding their way through the Appellate Courts. Additional legislation has been introduced and it is probable that there will be more Bills surfacing. We are hopeful that the current changes will be modified to minimize the impact on injured workers. Any questions can be directed to: STRAUSSNER,
